Biography of Chris Eckert
 Our head instructor, Chris Eckert,
began studying Karate at the Leduc dojo in 1978 under club founder Steve Vrabel. He currently holds the rank of Yondan
(4th degree black belt) and continues to further his study of Karate and Kobudo (Okinawan Weaponry) by attending monthly
Instructor Training at the Canadian Headquarters in Lloydminster, AB under Canadian Chief Instructor, Cameron Steuart.
He also travels annually to Genbukai International Headquarters in Santa Ana, California to train under Shihan Fumio Demura.
Additionally, he also travels to Japan periodically.
Along with instructing at the Leduc dojo, Chris Eckert also teaches at the Burnewood Community Hall in Edmonton where
he founded Burnewood Karate-Do in 1996.
